      Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews which is the governing body of golf in all countries except the US and Mexico
Range
A practice area, often located on or near the course.
Release
The moment during the downswing when your wrists uncock.
Relief
The right to move a ball away from trouble without incurring a penalty stroke.
Reverse overlap grip
A standard putting grip that places the index finger of the left hand over the pinky of the right (for a right-handed golfer).
Rough

Uncut grass allowed to grow long and borders the fairway.

Round
A complete course of nine or 18 holes of golf.
Rubber core ball
Invented by Coburn Haskell composed of a solid rubber core with yards of elastic thread wound around it. It was then covered with gutta-percha and replaced the guttie.
Run
How far a ball bounces and rolls after touching down.
