| Fade |
|
A deliberate shot that starts left of the target line and curves slightly to the right (for a right-handed golfer). An unintentional fade is a slice. |

The closely mown area of grass, usually 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch, running from the tee (where you hit your first shot) to the green. Its boundary is longer grass called the semi-rough or grass that has not been cut called the rough. It can have obstacles such as trees, bunkers or water hazards. |

A caddie ahead of the players to indicate the position of players shots as they come to rest. |

A club where the head is made of softer forged steel, instead of the harder cast steel cavity-back irons are made of. |
